One-Hour '#malaysiangaji Programme

The #MalaysiaNgaji campaign, which calls upon all Muslims to spend an hour reciting the Quran will begin at Saturday noon.

The campaign, organised by Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (YWUI) and the first in its series, is aimed at having one million Muslims to participate. Those interested to join the campaign need only to gather in mosques, homes, or any other place with their friends, family and colleagues, even online, to recite verses from the holy book together.

"It is hoped that within that hour when we recite the Quran, our hearts and minds will be closer to Allah," she said, adding that it was also hoped that the participants would pray for the wellbeing of Muslims in the world and for the country to continue to be blessed with peace and harmony.

YWUI is an initiative of Kumpulan Media Karangkraf chairman Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacob, and its main project is 'Rumah Ngaji', a place where people may learn how to recite the Quran at no cost.
